The Nation of Israel is evidence of God’s faithfulness and love.
His promises are backed by all the honor of His name (Psalm 138:2).
God promised Abraham: to make him a great nation; a specific area of land – Israel and that Abraham would be a blessing to all people (Genesis 12:1-7; 15; 17:1-22; 18:10; 21:1-5; 22:1,15-18).
Around 2000 B.C., Abraham obeyed God and left his homeland Ur, a city with many scholars and libraries and it is likely that Abraham recorded God’s promises and the events in his life on clay tablets in the cuneiform language. The historical account of God’s dealings with his Jewish people are recorded in the book of Genesis and continues on in the remaining books of the Old Testament (Tanakh).
A descendant of Abraham, Messiah, Jesus the Nazarene, born of a virgin in Bethlehem; pierced for our rebellion; crushed for our sins; whipped so we could be healed, resurrected so we could have eternal life – this is a blessing to all people as God works out his plan of redemption for all creation (Isaiah 7:14; 53; Micah 5:2-5; Matthew 1-2:1; John 11:25; Romans 8:18-24).
